This page explains how CleverKitchen selects and scores the products featured in our buying guides and reviews.

How We Select Products

We start with the kitchen products readers are most likely to consider — popular, well-reviewed, and widely available models in each category. We then narrow the field by comparing specifications, materials, capacity, features, build quality, value, and real-world owner feedback to shortlist the strongest options for each use case and budget.

What We Look For

  • Performance — does it cook, blend, brew, or cut as well as it claims?
  • Build quality & materials — durability, food-safe materials, and how well it holds up over time
  • Ease of use & cleaning — controls, setup, dishwasher-safe parts, and day-to-day convenience
  • Size & capacity — whether it fits real kitchens and real household sizes
  • Value — what you get for the price compared with alternatives

What Our Score Means

Each featured product may receive an editorial score from 0 to 10. The score reflects a blend of features, performance, build quality, value, and customer satisfaction relative to similar products. Scores are comparative within a category, not absolute across all kitchen products.

Missing Ratings, Reviews, and Prices

Ratings, review counts, and prices come from retailer data and can change or be temporarily unavailable. When information is missing, we do not invent it — we leave it out or note that it is unavailable, and you should check the retailer page for current details.

Testing and Evidence

Our recommendations are based on research and analysis of specifications, verified owner reviews, and expert sources. When we have not personally tested a product, we do not claim to have done so.

Affiliate and Editorial Independence

We may earn a commission from purchases made through our links, but this never affects our selections or scores. See our Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Policy for more information.
